Back Down The Strip
Time for the blackjack challenge…6 players, one table, 6 decks, $5 minimum at the Stardust. Had a really fun dealer who spent most of the time trying to figure out what we were, how we knew eachother, what kind of cars we drove(?), etc. He sure wouldn’t have made it at one of those “guess your whatever” jobs at the fair. We were 3 Catholics and 3 Jews (he was Jewish too and only got one of the 3 right), two married couples and two singles (he had the most unlikeliest pairings - in our minds). All in all, he truely added to the fun of 6 people spending 3 hours at the table with NO ONE LOSING A DIME! The only one who got anything out of our trip to the table was the cocktail waitress - everytime we placed a bet for the dealer, he would beat us! I was up $27.50 for the session (Total: +$107.50). Note on the Stardust Casino: dead, dead, dead. There were lots of people but no noise. Even the sports gambling machines were quiet. We abandoned the dealer and went back to TI to continue on a $10 6 deck table where I put together another $130 in winnings (Total: +$240 for the trip).
Last day and our flight didn’t leave until 11:55pm so we went to Paris for the buffet breakfast. Very good, lots of selection, no waiting inside but a very confusing wait to get in. The way I understood it was you get a ticket to come back to wait in line, then wait in line, then pay, then wait in line, then told (despite an abundance of empty tables) that they can’t accommodate 6 people at one table so will we go 3 + 3. We said sure and pushed our two tables together with the waitress’ help. Went to ESPN Zone at New York New York to watch basketball game but found that it doesn’t open until sometime in June….so we went to a little bar nearby where you can bring in food from the places around there. Bored of the game so went shopping and bought more stuff and some Krispy Kreme donuts upstairs.
Wandered back down the strip, visited Desert Passage at Aladdin (it was DESERTED for sure), paused for fountain show at Bellagio, and arrived back at TI and took in the Pirate Show from the Battle Bar outdoor patio (my husband and I had done this before but no one else had).
We took a taxi to the airport to check in well ahead of time and then popped over to the Hard Rock casino as we always do to wait for our flight. Had dinner at Mr. Lucky’s and ordered the not-on-the-menu steak and shrimp special (as advertised here on the board). It really exists and is a good deal. Spent $40 trying to win $8 million on MegaBucks (lost, obviously). At 11:00pm we met at the front to get a cab back to the airport. OOOPS, a show had just let out from The Joint and the cab line was 7 miles long so we took a town car limo ($35 plus tip - a rip off but necessary) back to the airport. 11:30pm to the duty free and on to the plane. Turbulent flight back to Toronto but arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule. online betting sports
